Quora – the popular question and answer site where questions are asked, answered, edited and organised by its community of users.Co-founded by Adam D’Angelo and Charlie Cheever, both of whom are former Facebook employees, Quora is a website where people can find answers to obscure questions, and explore complex topic in-depth. Its user base has grown exponentially since its birth in June 2010 and is now worth an estimated $1.8 million.

The number of unique visitors currently tops 200 million unique each month and shows no sign of slowing down. This has attracted the attention of many companies wishing to advertise on the platform, as opposed to others.

If you compare with the large social media platform Twitter, they both have large target audiences. Twitter currently has 328 million monthly users – 128 million more than Quora. This makes Quora’s advertising prices lower and more enticing due to stronger impressions, clicks and conversion rates. This gives advertisers an additional marketing avenue besides Google and Bing.

Within the advertising department, the question & answer site have announced a brand new feature – Quora Ads.

Now offering website retargeting, Quora have created a new audience for users who have visited the site previously. Now advertisers can target all the different audiences who have been to a section of the website with relatable ads. For example, if the topic is about PPC marketing, you can now target an audience who have viewed/read the topic with relatable ads.

This new update will be made available to the public on the 17th August 2017.
