Google’s Mobile Shopping Feature Has Added a New Feature to its Platform – Search Trends Around Popular Shopping Periods, Such As Black Friday & Cyber Monday’s Related Search Queries.
Google is bolstering its mobile shopping experience in preparation for the Christmas shopping period. It is now showing buying guides for broader search queries and adding additional product information.
With the aim of saving customers time and money, Google have released a product comparison feature. Users are able to see comparisons between the product they are searching for against similar products. It will display a whole host of filters, such as cost, price, size and user reviews.
Adding to the new improved shopping experience, Google have added a “Newer Model Available” button. This allows the shopper to see if they are purchasing the latest model of the product.

In the announcement, Google have collated data regarding popular product trends that will be carried out over Black Friday & Cyber Monday. Some of the most popular products that have a high CTR are branded, well-recognised products, such as:
Clothing brands: Vans, Canada Goose and Nike.
Celebrity Endorsement Products Examples: Kevin Durant’s, Nike KD10, Pharrell x Adidas and Rihanna’s Fenty Beauty Makeup Line.
Gaming Gifts: Call of Duty WW2, Nintendo Switch, Razor Phones.
VOICE SEARCHES
The search terms are changing, as users are no longer just using desktops, mobile and tablets for their searches. 20% of searches on Google are now via voice search on devices such as Amazon’s Alexa and Google Home.
With this additional information, Google has collated data to now know what searches are trending. It has seen a spike in everyday essentials, such as bread and milk. It has also seen a spike in holiday trends, such as the essentials and what to pack depending on your holiday destination.
