Google AdWords have lots of pieces of information helping you keep track of all of your ads and how they are competing with all of the competitors out there. Google also has a feature which is called a First Page Bid Estimate which is a metric that tells you based on the quality score and the competition for exact match, broad match and phase match. Google gives you an approximation of how high you should set your bids, this ensures you in winning as many auctions so that you are showing up on the first page of results each time someone enters a search term which have triggered a keyword. You are able to filter out keywords on selected campaigns to be able to see which keywords are below the first page estimate. You can do this by clicking the status column so that the arrow is facing downwards. If you have any keywords which are below the first page bid they will appear in red giving you an estimate on how much to bid to appear on the first page.
Above in the status column Google tells you how much you need to bid to be able to be placed on the first page. Previously I have seen these statuses of “Below First Page Bid” when our advert was showing on the first page in position 3.0. I had noticed that we will be bidding on keywords which generally have a higher bid than its average cost per click. You just need to remember when these statuses appear you just need to remember its an estimate, Google are not always right with what appears in the status column to be able to verify you can check the other columns to compare this is by checking the average position and then checking the ad preview and diagnosis page.
